Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Elmore, Ohio for a Director of Special Education. The Director of Special Education will oversee all aspects of special education services, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. Responsibilities include managing individualized education programs (IEPs), collaborating with educators and families, supervising special education staff, and coordinating training programs. The role also involves developing strategies to support students with special needs, addressing challenges, and implementing best practices for inclusive education.

Qualifications
  • Knowledge and experience in special education services, including creating and managing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of mentoring and supporting staff.
  • Excellence in communication, collaboration, and building relationships with families, educators, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in compliance with federal and state special education regulations and policies.
  • Strategic planning and problem-solving skills to advance inclusive education initiatives.
  • Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Certification or licensure in special education administration (as required by the state of Ohio).
  • Experience in a special education leadership position is preferred.
