About Camps for Friends GmbHCamps for Friends GmbH organises week-long and multi-week day and residential camps for children and young people across Germany. Our programs focus on non-formal and experiential education, creative workshops and project-based learning, sports, outdoor activities, and teamwork, as well as social, emotional, and personal development. Our camps are led by trained Leaders, Coordinators, and Counselors who create safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environments for participants from diverse backgrounds.
TraineeshipHighlights
- Hands-on experience in youth work, education, and camp-based learning environments
- Trainees participate in daily camp life while developing professional and intercultural skills relevant to their field of study
- Compliance with Erasmus+ Programme and Learning Agreement for Trainee ships
- Support English-language activities through games, sports, creative tasks, and workshops
- Assist with planning and preparation of daily programmes
- Teach English classes in a fun way using provided materials
- Support group supervision during activities, meals, transitions, and breaks
- Promote participant wellbeing, inclusion, and positive group dynamics
- Contribute to safety routines and safeguarding practices
- Help keep camp life organized (materials, schedules, group movement)
- Collaborate with an international staff team and participate in team coordination
- Support small group activities
- Lead themed workshops
- Assist with pedagogical planning and reflection
- Students enrolled in Education (e.g., Primary Education, Early Childhood Education)
- Developmental or Educational Psychology
- Across all academic backgrounds, gain practical experience in communication, responsibility, teamwork, leadership, and intercultural cooperation
Before arrival, trainees complete preparation modules via Camps for Friends Academy. During the traineeship, we provide a structured on-site orientation, continuous supervision and daily support, regular check-ins and feedback, and tasks adapted to individual learning goals and academic requirements. All trainees receive a formal certificate of completion at the end of the placement.
Practical Information- Camps run for approximately 11 weeks starting in late June
- Trainees are not usually placed for the full camp period
- Pre-season preparation and post-season reflection tasks can be included to meet Erasmus+ duration requirements
- Camps for Friends fully supports Erasmus+ Learning Agreements, supervision, and evaluation standards
In addition to Erasmus+ financial support provided by the sending institution, Camps for Friends offers full board (meals included) and travel reimbursement according to internal guidelines. These provisions are intended to support participation and accessibility and do not constitute a salary.
