Position Details
Teacher – 5th Grade SS/Science at Jubilee Academies. Salary $56,050. Exempt full‑time Monday‑Friday. Reports to Campus Principal. Term 190 workdays at‑will.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree with official transcripts.
- Competency in a core academic subject area.
- Belief in Jubilee Academies mission and vision.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the school curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation.
- Prepare emergency lesson plan folders to cover two days of material.
- Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
- Present subject matter according to Texas Education Agency guidelines, board policies, and administrative regulations.
- Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students.
- Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
- Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for SPED students according to Individual Education Plans.
- Work with other staff members to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements.
- Plan and supervise assignments of teacher aid and volunteers.
- Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
- Participate in extended day and weekend school tutoring as required.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits.
- Teach students to work toward self‑discipline and responsibility.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
- Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned. Sponsor outside activities approved by the campus Assistant Director.
- Be a positive role model for students, support mission of school.
- Ensure good student discipline by being regular in attendance and on time.
- Create a positive classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
- Maintain neat and orderly classroom.
- Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
- Use the discipline management plan to include but not limited to ground rules posted so they may be seen.
- Use a step process with reinforcement for appropriate on‑task behavior and consequences for inappropriate off‑task behavior posted at all times.
- Use a lesson agenda that models task organization and time management skills and insures total time planning in the classroom.
- Take all necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Assist in selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
- Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, directors, and teachers.
- Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
- Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
- Participate in staff development activities to improve job‑related skills.
- Adheres to staff dress code.
- Arrive at first morning class 15 minutes before the bell.
- Maintains a good working relationship with Jubilee Academies staff and parents.
- Actively participates in two school committees and will chair one committee.
- Keeps Jubilee Academies School Assistant Director informed of maintenance problems.
- Actively supports and participates in fundraising activities.
- Compile, maintain, and fill all reports, records, and other documents required.
- Actively stays abreast of new developments in education.
- May supervise assigned teacher aide(s) or volunteers.
- Convey the charter’s mission to the public and encourage support in accomplishing the mission.
- Illustrate understanding of charter and community needs and begin activities to meet those needs.
- Demonstrate use of productive and efficient skills to raise community and parent involvement.
- Actively participate in student recruitment efforts.
