Summary

Within the standard of care, provide competent psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment to students with mental illness referred by clinical counseling team within a university medical center.

Principal Functional Responsibilities

Clinical Services:
Provide psychiatric treatment, including appropriate pharmacotherapy. Monitor effects and side effects over time and adjust achieve desired or optimal outcomes. Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, formulate diagnoses, and create a treatment plan. Document properly and within time standards.

Collaboration and Consultation:
Collaborate closely with counseling staff, medical providers, case managers, and campus partners to support patent mental health and overall well-being.

Compliance and Professional Standards:
Adhere to NEOMED, NEOMED Health Care and appropriate credentialing policies, state licensure requirements, and ethical guidelines for psychiatric practice. Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based psychiatric treatment, psychopharmacology, and emerging trends in college mental health. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with accreditation or regulatory standards where applicable.

Other Duties:
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

* Licensed physician in the State of Ohio, DO or MD, with a fully unencumbered license

* Valid, unencumbered DEA certificate

* Completion of accredited psychiatric training program residency with Board Certification in Psychiatry

* Participation in appropriate continuing certification programs as outlined via Board Certification

* Training in Community Mental Health, or greater than 2 years' experience during post-residency

Preferred Qualifications

Specialized knowledge of the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders, eating disorders, substance abuse, attention deficit disorder, trauma, sexual abuse, chronic and severe mental illness and other issues common among the college mental health population
