Physician Administrator TCI; Medical

Physician Administrator 2 TCI (Medical) role at Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC) for the male population at Trumbull Correctional Institution. This full-time position requires board-eligible or board-certified physicians in internal medicine, family medicine, or emergency medicine to provide primary care services in a correctional setting.

• Work collaboratively with intra- and interdepartmental staff to administer treatment for patients using nationally recognized treatment standards and document in an electronic health record system
• Conduct exams, and write evaluations and reports
• Order and interpret diagnostic testing
• Manage medication
• Complete reclassifications and other reviews as indicated
• Make referrals for specialized care or treatment
• Perform duties in accordance with scope of practice; ODRC policies, procedures, protocols; and related American Correctional Association standards
• Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement activities, including peer reviews
• Provide or share responsibilities of off-site 24-hour emergency telephone call coverage as needed (on-call coverage is part of normal duties and does not garner extra compensation)
• Engage in collaborative agreements, as needed
• Determine the need for specialty consults
• Attend professional meetings
• Manage on-call schedule
• Provide clinical supervision of all providers, ensuring care meets community standards and ODRC policy and procedure

• Board-eligible or board-certified in internal medicine, family medicine, or emergency medicine
• Experience providing primary care services in a correctional setting is preferred
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and supervise clinical staff

• Weekdays, no nights
• No holidays
• Flexible, based on operational need

• DEA fee eligibility for waiver if prescribing only for government entities
• Malpractice indemnification, as outlined in Section 9.87 of the Ohio Revised Code
