Purpose
Honda is seeking a Unit Lead to oversee and guide a team of UX Designers, ensuring the delivery of high‑quality, user‑centered experiences. The Team Lead manages the team’s work, provides mentorship, and contributes to UX strategy while balancing business objectives and user needs. This position requires strong collaboration across product, engineering, and business teams to drive impactful design and research outcomes.
KeyAccountabilities Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and provide performance feedback for UX Designers or UX Researchers
- Conduct performance reviews and support career growth for team members
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages innovation and learning
- Ensure the team is motivated, engaged, and inspired to achieve goals and objectives
- Manage, review, and approve UX deliverables (e.g., wireframes, prototypes, research reports) to ensure quality and consistency
- Ensure UX solutions align with best practices in usability, accessibility, and brand standards Process Improvement & Strategy Contribution
- Advocate for user‑centered design and research methodologies
- Identify opportunities to enhance team workflows, design/research processes, and recommend actions for improvement
- Support UX leadership in defining team goals and priorities
- Bachelor’s in Design, Human‑Computer Interaction, Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 6‑8 years of experience in UX design, including leadership responsibilities
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, presentation, and storytelling capabilities
- Strong knowledge of design and research methodologies, tools, and best practices
- Experience leading and mentoring UX professionals
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to keep the team on track
- Interpersonal and people skills, including facilitating smooth interactions
- Mindset of continuous improvement and raising the bar
