Job SummaryAs a Civil Telecom Technician at STG Communications, you play a vital role in supporting telecommunications infrastructure through the installation, maintenance, and repair of civil components. Your work ensures that underground and above-ground infrastructure is installed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. This position involves hands‑on work, including trenching, conduit installation, site preparation, and operating construction equipment. Your contributions directly impact the success and quality of our telecommunications projects.
Key Responsibilities- Perform civil construction tasks such as trenching, conduit installation, and site preparation for telecom projects.
- Assign daily tasks to crew members and ensure quality workmanship aligned with project plans.
- Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings to accurately layout job sites.
- Enforce safety standards, conduct tailgate meetings, and complete required job safety analyses.
- Operate and oversee construction equipment such as mini‑excavators, trenchers, and skid steers.
- Coordinate with Project Managers and internal teams to provide updates and resolve field issues.
- Maintain organized trucks, trailers, tools, and equipment.
- Complete daily reports, safety documentation, and project closeout paperwork.
- Mentor and train Civil Technicians to promote skill development and crew performance.
- Proven experience in civil construction, underground utilities, or site development.
- Strong understanding of trenching, conduit installation, grading, and concrete practices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
- Experience operating construction equipment.
- Demonstrated leadership and crew supervision experience.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Commitment to safety and compliance with OSHA and company standards.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required.
