Student Employment - Construction Maintenance

Location: Nelsonville

Position Purpose

Support the Facilities Department in various hands-on projects including construction, demolition, general maintenance, and office relocations. This role helps maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming campus environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

* Assisting in the construction of new campus buildings or updates to existing structures

* Performing basic facility maintenance tasks under supervision

* Helping with demolition work and site clean-up

* Assisting in the relocation and disposal of office furniture and construction materials

* Ensuring work areas are kept clean and safe at all times

* Following all safety protocols and procedures

Qualifications & Requirements

* Must be enrolled as a student at Hocking College

* Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, moving, and standing for extended periods

* Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team

* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety

Dress Code

To ensure safety and professionalism on the job site, the following attire is required at all times:

* Closed-toe shoes (work boots or sturdy shoes preferred)

* Work trousers (no shorts allowed)

* Appropriate work shirts (no tank tops or sleeveless shirts)

Failure to comply with the dress code may result in being sent home for the day or further disciplinary action.
