Childcare Receptionist

YMCA of Greater Dayton – New Bremen, OH

Part‑Time / Non‑Exempt – $11.00‑$13.20 / Hourly

Position Summary

The Chief role of the Childcare Receptionist is to furnish outstanding front‑desk service to YMCA childcare program participants and their parents through the day.

Essential Functions
  • Assist in food preparation (lunch and snack).
  • Help with child ratios as needed.
  • Deliver excellent front‑desk service to program participants, their families, staff, and guests.
  • Inform teachers and staff of families’ schedules, billing issues, absences.
  • Provide excellent telephone service.
  • Conduct facility tours for prospective participants and guests.
  • Remain accountable for all monetary transactions on shift and reconcile them appropriately.
  • Maintain Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) paperwork and records.
  • Build relationships with participants and guests.
  • Perform routine copying and filing.
  • Be familiar with childcare information from the handbooks.
  • Proactively solve problems.
  • Follow safety guidelines.
  • Communicate concerns or incidents to direct supervisor.
  • Uphold guidelines in the Child Care and Employee Handbooks of the Association.
  • Possess a valid safe driving record to transport up to 14 children.
  • Protect confidential information regarding participants, families, and staff.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 18 years of age with a high‑school diploma or GED; a 2‑year degree or relevant experience is preferred.
  • At least six months of related customer service and clerical experience required.
