Human Resources Intern

Location and Travel Details: Dayton, OH area

Illumination Works (ILW) is a trusted technology partner in user-centric digital transformation, delivering impactful business results to clients through a wide range of services including big data information frameworks, data science, data visualization, and application/cloud development, all while focusing the approach on the end-user perspective. We are excited to offer a paid internship program for interns within the areas of information technology (IT) (data science, data engineering, data visualization, software development) and business consulting.

The internship will provide the candidate with the opportunity to actively engage in the world of data-driven decision-making and analytics, harnessing the power of data to generate valuable insights, drive innovation, and contribute to the success of the business.

The Illumination Works 2026 Internship Program runs from May 2026 to August 2026. Start and end dates within those months are flexible, ensuring a minimum internship duration of 10 or more weeks. Please note your availability, including start, end, and any vacation days/weeks on your Cover Letter.

Responsibilities may include:

• Provide support to the broad range of Illumination Works' Human Resource activities
• Review company policies and participate in discussions with members of the Illumination Works' Operations staff focused on ensuring regulatory compliance while enhancing employee experience
• Participate in Illumination Works Employee Engagement activities to gain insights into employee concerns and issues
• Conduct research to determine competitive salaries for various technical positions in different geographic locations and market sectors

Must have qualifications:

• Junior/Senior student or recent graduate in a 4-year university pursuing a degree in a relevant field (i.e., Business, Management, Human Resources, or other related field)
• Minimum GPA of 3.4 on a 4.0 scale
• Exceptional interpersonal skills
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Willingness to learn new skills
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Acceptable candidates must successfully pass a drug test, pass a background screen, and provide official transcripts

Additional desired qualifications:

• Understanding of general business operations
• Knowledge of human resource practices and systems
• Strong research skills applicable over a broad range of business disciplines
