Atmos Space Cargo is seeking a Senior Bid Manager – B2G to own and drive our European institutional bidding strategy, with a strong focus on German and EU programs. In this role, you will sit at the intersection of strategy, technology, and public institutions, shaping which missions are funded and ultimately flown.
You will lead high-impact bids with organizations such as DLR, ESA, the European Commission, and CNES, working closely with engineering, finance, and leadership to convert strategic opportunities into funded programs.
This is a senior, high-autonomy role with direct influence on Atmos’ long-term institutional growth.
Key Responsibilities- You will own the full bid lifecycle for European institutional programs, from opportunity capture and go/no-go decisions through submission and contract award
- You will identify, monitor, and qualify upcoming institutional calls across German and European B2G frameworks
- You will act as the primary interface with institutional stakeholders, building credibility and long-term relationships
- You will coordinate and align technical, financial, legal, and management inputs into coherent, competitive proposals
- You will define proposal structures, compliance matrices, timelines, and internal responsibilities
- You will ensure full compliance with institutional requirements, formats, and deadlines
- You will contribute to bid strategy, positioning, and win themes in close coordination with leadership
- You will continuously improve internal bid governance, processes, and tools as the institutional pipeline grows
- 5+ years of experience in institutional bidding, proposal management, or B2G project management within aerospace, space, defense, or closely related high-technology sectors
- Proven experience leading end-to-end institutional proposals, not only supporting roles
- Strong proposal writing, structuring, and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams
- Solid understanding of European and national funding frameworks (e.g. EU, ESA, or national space programs)
- Excellent command of English (C2) and German (C1)
- For this role, we can only consider applicants who already hold a valid right to work in the EU
- Experience working in or with the space sector (primes, agencies, startups, or consultancies)
- Exposure to systems engineering or technical program environments
- French language skills
- Experience scaling or professionalising bid processes in growing organisations
ATMOS was founded as a European company built on the values of freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law, and human rights. We are committed to protect these values by making our technology available to others who share the same values, strengthening infrastructure and innovation for prosperity on Earth.
Our team is multinational and diverse, with offices in Lichtenau and Strasbourg. We work in a collegial, hands-on culture where people support each other, take ownership, and keep learning every day. Motivation for the mission comes first — building spacecraft is not a nine-to-five pursuit. We align the mission, the team, and the individual in mutual dependence. This principle shapes our work environment where exceptional people, as committed as they are competent, can grow and contribute to a mission that matters.
