Position Purpose

The Student Employee in the Registrar’s Office provides clerical and customer service support to assist with the daily operations of the office. This position supports the maintenance and organization of academic records in accordance with institutional policies and confidentiality guidelines.

The Student Employee performs general office duties, including phone and front desk coverage, while consistently maintaining a positive, professional, and customer-focused demeanor. The role delivers courteous and respectful service to students, employees, and visitors, ensuring inquiries are handled promptly and directed appropriately. The position also assists with special projects and routine administrative tasks as assigned, contributing to the efficient and effective operation of the Registrar’s Office while adhering to all applicable policies, procedures, and privacy regulations.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Processing documents for electronic student files including scanning and naming paper and microfiche documents - this is for current student documents as well as former student documents.
  • General clerical support including phone coverage and front office coverage.
  • Provides customer service for students, faculty/staff, and the general public.
  • Provides assistance with assigned projects.
  • Warmly greet guests and answer questions.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and provide requested information.
  • Take messages as needed.
  • Respond to email inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Run errands on campus as assigned.

    Use the Hocking College website and electronic systems.
  • Deliver excellent customer service in all interactions.
Qualifications – Education, Experience, and Skills
  • Must currently be enrolled as a full-time Hocking College student.
  • Must be a second-year student.
  • Must have and can maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Exhibit a positive, professional attitude.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with email etiquette and professional correspondence.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
