Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Oak Harbor, Ohio. As part of a small yet dynamic company, you will play a key role in managing financial operations while contributing to process improvements and enhancing efficiencies. This position offers an opportunity to grow within the organization and make a meaningful impact on our business.
Responsibilities:
- Enter and process invoices with accuracy and timeliness.
- Post cash transactions and reconcile accounts to ensure financial records are balanced.
- Manage payroll functions and assist with month-end closing activities.
- Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive financial data in a small-town environment.
- Analyze purchasing practices and recommend cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare financial reports and conduct analysis to support decision-making.
- Develop metrics and tools to improve financial processes and inventory management.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement streamlined procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure clear communication and problem resolution.
- Utilize accounting software and Excel for efficient data management and reporting. Requirements
- Experience with journal entries, general ledger, and T accounts.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to ensure financial data is accurate and complete.
- Excellent communication skills to address issues and resolve discrepancies effectively.
- Familiarity with month-end close processes and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and basic Excel functions, such as VLOOKUP.
- Ability to adapt to new systems and processes with a proactive mindset.
- Willingness to learn inventory accounting and contribute to cross-functional improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred, but not required.
