The QMA is responsible for providing the medication administration, daily care, health needs, safety and comfort of the residents.
Essential Functions- Provide medication administration, daily care, health needs, safety and comfort of residents.
- Administer and document oral, eye, topical, suppository, ear drop and other medications as ordered.
- Perform treatments on minor skin conditions per physician orders.
- Maintain locked medication cart and keys according to facility policy.
- Check catheters frequently and provide catheter care as assigned.
- Document all medications and treatments given in medication record and nurse's notes.
- Maintain confidentiality of all residents and their care to ensure residents’ rights and privacy.
- Perform other duties as assigned by staff nurse or designee.
- Must be certified by the Indiana State Department of Health as a CNA in good standing.
- Must have completed a state approved training program in medication administration and have current QMA certification by the Indiana State Department of Health.
- Have a thorough understanding of the principles of safe effective nursing practices within the State of Indiana.
