Warehouse Specialist – COSIS Purpose and Scope

The Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan. Exclude workers whose primary duties involve shipping and receiving work, order filling, or operating forklifts.

• Perform a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan.
• Rearrange and take inventory of stored materials, examine stored materials and report deterioration and damage.
• Remove material from storage and prepare it for shipment.
• Operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.
• Verify materials against receiving documents, report discrepancies and obvious damages; route materials to prescribed storage locations; store, stack, or palletize material in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
• Perform all other position‑related duties as assigned or requested.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Six to twelve months of job‑related experience and/or training.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate a government general‑purpose vehicle.
• Ability to perform work safely to prevent loss or damage of equipment.
• Customer‑oriented with ability to courteously and effectively work through difficult situations.
• MAY REQUIRE ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

• Must be able to type using a standard keyboard to communicate through e‑mail and software applications.
• Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day.
• Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.
• Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
• Must be able to lift heavy objects whose weight may exceed 50 pounds.
• Must be able to pass a Respirator Physical and Fit Test qualification.
• Must be able to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklift, etc.
• Must be able to lift/push/pull minimum of 50 pounds.
• May work in warehouse or outside where it is drafty, noisy and dirty.
• May be exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment.
• May be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts or vehicles.
• Will be required to handle dirty parts and lubricants.
• Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• May be required to travel domestically and internationally on short notice to austere environments, under harsh living conditions.

$21.73 per hour (good‑faith estimate). Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
