Secret Critical Facility Technician

Must Haves- Ability to obtain OR currently/previously held secret clearance or higher
- Must have at least 3 years of experience in a critical facility operation (such as a data center or hospital) as an electrician responsible for electrical systems that run the entire infrastructure
- Experience with specific mission-critical systems is essential. These include:
- Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) and batteries
- Power Distribution Units (PDUs)
- Standby generators and fuel systems
- Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS)
- Building Management Systems (BMS) and Energy Management Systems (EPMS)
- The ability to use various electrical testing equipment, including multimeters, DLROs, and infrared scanning tools, is crucial for diagnostics and preventative maintenance.
- Sense of urgency for critical environment
- ACTIVE Journeyman or State Licensed Electrician (differs state by state, some states do not have Journeyman but have Licensed or Master. Can be from any state as long as it is active)
- Ensure all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment in the data center operates at peak efficiency.
- Perform planned preventative maintenance, daily corrective work, and emergency response for critical systems.
- Serve as an expert technical resource, reporting to a program manager and interacting with Onsite Engineering Operations (OEO) and third-party vendors.
- Act as the main point of contact for all facility operations within the assigned data center.
- Maintain better than 99.999% uptime for mission-critical server support equipment.
- Apply safe working practices, including lockout/tagout procedures, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and good housekeeping.
- Use hand tools and test equipment to install, troubleshoot, and repair new or replacement parts for existing units.
- Read and review blueprints, wiring diagrams, mechanical riser drawings, and job specifications.
- Assist higher-level technicians (CET2) with more advanced procedures as needed.
- Conduct daily facility walk-throughs, documenting parameters such as power availability, temperature, humidity, and alarm status for trend analysis.
- Utilize Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) to monitor and verify the status of infrastructure.
- Log all maintenance activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Learn and follow site-specific processes, including incident/outage reporting, procedure execution, and use of SharePoint for accessing procedures and training content.
- Understand and participate in site emergency operations plans (EOPs) as a first responder in the data center.
