Compensation:
Competitive executive base salary in the $190,000–$250,000 range, plus performance bonus commensurate with experience and revenue impact.
We’re seeking an experienced, results‑oriented Vice President of Retail Sales to lead and expand a high‑growth retail channel currently generating nine‑figure annual revenue. This role will oversee all aspects of the retail strategy — from national account management to independent retailer development — while building and leading a world‑class sales organization. The VP will report directly to the CEO and collaborate closely with operations, marketing, and product leadership to deliver sustained retail growth, operational excellence, and strong profitability.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute a comprehensive retail sales strategy to drive continued growth across U.S. and international markets.
- Build, lead, and mentor a high‑performing sales team capable of managing both large national accounts and independent retailers.
- Own strategic partnerships with key retailers including Target, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Scheels, Academy Sports, and similar national accounts.
- Expand and support independent and specialty retailers — from regional chains to single‑door stores — through tailored programs, training, and data‑backed assortment planning.
- Partner with marketing and operations teams to optimize product launches, promotions, and planograms across retail channels.
- Analyze sell‑in and sell‑through data to identify trends, optimize product mix, and increase repeat sell‑through at retail.
- Forecast and manage revenue and margin targets, ensuring alignment with company financial goals.
- Establish and refine CRM processes, account performance tracking, and sales reporting systems to enable scalable growth.
- Represent the brand with excellence at major retail meetings, trade shows, and industry events.
- 10+ years of progressive retail sales experience in consumer goods, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven success managing and growing major national retail accounts (Target, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Scheels, Costco, Academy Sports, etc.).
- Track record of scaling a retail channel from high‑8‑figure to 9‑figure+ annual revenue.
- Deep understanding of both big‑box retail dynamics and independent/specialty channels.
- Strong leadership and team‑building skills — capable of recruiting, mentoring, and inspiring a high‑performance sales organization.
- Highly analytical and data‑driven approach to sales strategy, forecasting, and margin management.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship‑building skills.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
