Job Summary /Basic FunctionMarketing & Communications is seeking an outgoing, organized individual to serve as the primary point of contact for external media requests, and to assist and support the director of Public Relations with fielding and responding to those requests in a manner that aligns with and champions Weber State University's branding and marketing priorities, along with helping to tell the Weber State story across a variety of communication platforms.
Required Qualifications Required- Bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations, communications, English or related field (or equivalent combination of education and work experience).
- Two years' experience working in public relations, journalism, social media, etc.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated experience in a newsroom or journalistic setting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in reporting/information gathering
- Demonstrated professional video editing /storytelling skills
- Demonstrated experience working under deadline
