Job Title: Laser Operator (2nd Shift)
Location: Ogden, UT 84404
Pay: $20.00hr-$31.00hr
Job Type: Direct, Full-Time
Shift: 2nd 3:00pm-1:00am – 9/80 scheduled, 12% differential pay for swing shift, 9-hour shifts, off every other Friday
Start Date: ASAP
A Laser Operator (2nd Shift) job opportunity is available with our client in Ogden, UT. In this role you will be setting up and operating CNC Laser and other production machines i.e. Lathes and mills.
Core Responsibilities- Set-Up and operation on CNC Laser and other production machines i.e. Lathes and mills.
- Understanding and ability to problem solve any issues that may occur with machinery and/or material.
- Working with a variety of measuring, inspection devices, hand tools and the ability to identify different types and thickness of materials.
- Ability to utilize various inspection tools, Calipers, Mics, Overlays and Pin Gauges.
- Ability to pay exceptional attention to detail and have the capacity to handle multiple tasks effectively under deadline pressures while following direction and completing assignments accurately and on time.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to plan and perform difficult work processes.
- Interact and communicate in a professional and effective manner with all levels employees.
- Schedule and organize time and tasks effectively.
- Ability to work in a challenging and schedule driven environment.
- Learn and adhere to required safety and housekeeping standards and practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency Required.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 3+ years of experience in CNC Laser operation or equivalent.
- Prefer background in Aerospace Industry.
- Sets up and programs machinery to cut sheet material and create fixtures per customer specifications.
- Analyzes drawings and specifications and determines tooling by applying knowledge and experience of metal properties, machining and processes; works with toolmakers, engineers, and quality to resolve tolerance issues.
- Inspect tools using calipers, micrometers, overlays and pin gauges to determine tolerance relative to customer specifications.
- Daily maintenance and cleanup of machines and align machines when issues arise.
- Learn and adhere to required safety and housekeeping standards and practices.
