Overview
The Regional Safety Manager will be responsible for overseeing safety programs, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving continuous improvement in safety performance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on safety outcomes and contribute to the success of our projects and operations.
Key Responsibilities- Safety Program Leadership:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of regional safety programs, policies, and procedures to promote a safe work environment and prevent occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Collaborate with senior management, project teams, and field personnel to establish safety goals, objectives, and performance metrics, and monitor progress towards achieving safety targets.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and job hazard analyses (JHAs) to identify potential safety hazards and implement appropriate controls and mitigation measures to reduce risks and prevent incidents.
- Develop and implement emergency preparedness and response plans to address potential safety emergencies, such as fires, chemical spills, and severe weather events, and ensure effective communication and coordination of response efforts.
- Training and
Education: - Develop, deliver, and facilitate safety training programs and workshops for employees, subcontractors, and vendors, covering topics such as hazard recognition, fall protection, confined space entry, and equipment safety.
- Monitor training compliance and effectiveness, evaluate training needs, and recommend enhancements to training curriculum and delivery methods to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Incident Investigation and Analysis:
- Lead and oversee investigations of safety incidents, near misses, and accidents, utilizing root cause analysis (RCA) techniques to identify underlying causes, contributing factors, and systemic issues, and develop corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to prevent recurrence.
- Analyze incident data, trends, and leading indicators to identify areas for improvement, develop actionable insights, and implement strategies to drive continuous improvement in safety performance.
- Regulatory Compliance and Reporting:
- Stay abreast of federal, state, and local safety regulations, codes, and standards applicable to the construction industry, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and facilitate regulatory inspections, audits, and reviews, responding to inquiries and addressing findings in a timely manner, and maintain accurate records and documentation of compliance activities.
