Job Description
The Valet Attendant provides exceptional hospitality services to guests in an attentive, friendly, and efficient manner. In this key role, the Parking Attendant is responsible for greeting guests, parking and retrieving vehicles in a prompt yet safe manner, providing wheelchair, and way‑finding assistance.
Scope- Provides guest relations services at all valet locations at the assigned facility.
- Proactively approaches, greets, and acknowledges guests with a smile in a friendly, professional manner; provides prompt, responsive customer service.
- Speaks with others using clear and professional language; answers telephones using appropriate etiquette.
- Opens doors and assists guests/visitors entering and leaving the property.
- Provides guests with directions and information regarding the hospital campus, including:
- Location of services
- Hours of operation
- Local areas of interest and activities
- Assists guests with car doors and offers mobility assistance when needed.
- Escorts and/or transports guests within the hospital as needed.
- Safely navigates the parking lot, maintaining awareness to avoid hazardous situations; drives defensively to prevent accidents.
- Records all information on parking stubs/tickets, transfers relevant information to log sheets, and maintains logs/reports.
- Ensures unclaimed car keys at the end of the day are taken to the designated after‑hours collection point.
- Monitors and maintains safety, security, and cleanliness of parking areas; reports vehicles, safety hazards, unauthorized personnel, or potential security concerns to a manager/supervisor.
- Follows all company policies and procedures; reports accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions; maintains confidentiality of patient information; protects company assets.
- Develops and maintains positive working relationships with others; supports teamwork to reach department goals.
- Current driver’s license with no outstanding citations or warrants.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to follow work instructions and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Demonstrated ability to operate:
Manual and automatic transmissions, Small vehicles (e.g., subcompact), Large vehicles (e.g., SUVs, trucks). - Demonstrated ability to communicate in a positive and upbeat manner.
- Demonstrated ability to stand and maintain well‑paced mobility for the duration of the shift.
- Demonstrated ability to reach other areas of the hospital in a timely manner.
- Secondary language proficiency.
- Six months of experience in a similar role at a four‑ or five‑star hotel/resort.
- Position Type: PRN / per diem
- Starting Pay: $17.00/hr (based on related experience)
