Licensed Mental Health Professionals in the Counseling and Psychological Services Center (CPSC) provide individual, couples, and group counseling services to Weber State University Students. Counseling addresses psychological, social, academic, and/or other personal issues that directly or indirectly impair clients in their functioning ited crisis intervention is provided during business hours. In addition to counseling, professional clinical staff provide some outreach and consultation services upon request.
Such services are designed to educate, enhance skills, and increase mental health awareness. CPSC staff may serve on university committees and/or task forces contributing important knowledge regarding student mental health to the broader WSU community. Depending upon the needs of the Center and the university community, the percentage of time spent engaging in various duties and responsibilities may vary.
Required:
- Completion of master’s degree in a mental health field from an appropriately accredited college/university and graduate program prior to start date
- Experience providing individual psychotherapy to adults in an outpatient setting
- Current Utah license to practice mental health therapy, independently or under the supervision of a licensed professional, in Utah; OR eligibility for provisional licensure prior to start date.

Preferred:
- Experience providing brief (2-6 sessions), goal-oriented treatment
- Two years post-licensure eligibility to practice independently without supervision
- Experience providing clinical supervision to graduate students and/or provisionally-licensed clinicians
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment
