This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time, the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.

Job Summary / Basic Function:
Lab instructors will reinforce course concepts through instruction and practical laboratory applications, record attendance and assess students’ knowledge of key concepts, assist with laboratory organization and preparation of learning activities, and provide constructive feedback to the department and departmental faculty.
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Lab Sciences or an associate’s degree in Medical Lab Sciences with 2 years of experience.
- Preference will be given to applicants who have completed courses through the WSU Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences.
- Licensed through ASCP as an MT or MLT.
- Basic lab skills including phlebotomy, pipette, microscope, basic culture setup, operation of lab equipment, basic knowledge of UA, Chem, Micro, Immunology, Serology, Hematology, and grading of laboratory assignments.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Background check required.
- Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
- Standing for extended periods.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks, including long distances or moving from one work site to another.
- Operating, activating, using, preparing, inspecting, placing, detecting, or positioning equipment.
- Grasping objects, applying pressure with fingers and palm.
- Perceiving attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by touch.
- Expressing or exchanging ideas accurately and quickly.
- Receiving detailed information with or without assistance.
- Light work, exerting up to 20 lbs occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs frequently.
- Use of arm and/or leg controls exerting forces greater than sedentary work.
- Visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision; required for preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, using a computer terminal, and extensive reading.
The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work). No other significant environmental hazards.
