We are seeking an experienced Medical Lab Scientist PRN to join our laboratory team and help ensure high quality and efficient patient care.

As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will be an integral part of our Laboratory team. The role supports multiple departments in delivering compassionate, professional patient care through reliable testing.

• Receive blood specimens, perform blood tests, and study blood morphology.
• Conduct routine or special clinical laboratory tests using automated equipment, manual testing, and microscopic analysis to provide diagnostic data.
• Maintain and operate laboratory equipment such as chemistry analyzers, ion‑specific electrodes, osmometers, and other instruments.
• Perform antibody screening, identification, cross‑matching, and identify antibodies that could react adversely during transfusion.
• Notify nursing units and/or physicians of critical lab values.
• Implement new testing methods, products, and instrumentation to keep the department current with technology.

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Technology program (Associate’s degree acceptable) or a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, Chemistry, or Biology with appropriate certification; may be hired prior to graduation upon completion of required coursework.
• Nationally recognized certification as a Medical Technologist (MT/MLS or MLT) from the American Society for Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent.
• Licensure completed within one year of hire.
• One year of experience in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting preferred; new graduates will be considered.
• Completion of the American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
