Position: Engineering Drafter – Electrical SPI Automation, Inc.

Overview

As an Engineering Drafter for SPI Automation, you’ll be a part of a dynamic team of engineers and technicians responsible for the design and build of custom automation systems. You will work closely with controls engineers, assembly technicians, and machinists to provide a full solution for leading industrial manufacturing clients. Your goal will be to solve problems, document designs, and execute projects that are On Time, On Budget, and On Spec.

Requirements

Not everyone can be an Engineering Drafter. To be seriously considered for the role, please have the following:

  • Experience:

    At least 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Preferred Education:

    Technical training, AS, or BS degree in Drafting or related field.
  • Skills:

    You must be an excellent drafter in AutoCAD with AutoCAD Electrical experience. Experience with Solid Works a plus. Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Characteristics:
    You should be a self-starter and self-motivated. Great fit candidates can be described as observant, practical, resourceful, and committed!
Responsibilities

As SPI Automation’s Engineering Drafter, you’ll meet the role’s strategic intent by documenting control system designs. Throughout your journey to help SPI Automation grow its customer base, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Project:
    Create AutoCAD Electrical drawing packages for control cabinets and field layout designs for new manufacturing operations.
  • Collaborate:
    Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team including engineers, machinists, and assembly technicians.
  • Track:
    Keep detailed documentation to track project development and design process.
  • Results:
    Ensure project is On Time, On Budget, and On Spec.
