Bechtel is on the Northrop Grumman Corp. team preparing to deliver the U.S. Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) system of inter‑continental ballistic missiles and launch infrastructure. GBSD is a vital U.S. Air Force program designed to modernize the nation's aging force of inter‑continental ballistic missiles, which make up the ground element of the nuclear deterrent. As part of the Northrop Grumman GBSD nationwide team, Bechtel will provide launch system design, construction, and integration.

This role will support design development of Civil Site engineering designs for the project by preparing studies, drawings, and evaluations, in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements. Work with other civil designers/engineers and technical disciplines in a team environment. The successful candidate must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem‑solving abilities, can‑do attitude, and the desire to innovate design.

• Originate and check Civil Site deliverables of moderate complexity, including drawings and 3‑D models earthwork/site design.
• Review Civil/Structural deliverables of moderate complexity, including drawings and 3‑D models for steel and concrete.
• Interpret and verify industry standards, guidelines, and codes for project deliverables.
• Report design quantities compared to estimated quantities.
• Work with Civil/Structural supervisors to plan, budget and schedule drawing and 3‑D model deliverables within the discipline.
• Participate in project design/model reviews.
• Participate in constructability reviews.
• Review and coordinate technical documents with/from other engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction.

• BS degree in a related field with 8-10 years of related design experience or AA/AS degree with 10-12 years of related design experience. In lieu of a degree, 15 years of related design experience.
• US citizenship is required per contract requirement.

• Advance experience in the use of AutoCAD, Civil3D and Revit.
• Work experience should emphasize Civil Site design of heavy industrial type facilities.
• Must be familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Familiar with the provisions of AASHTO, ASTM, ACI, FHWA, MUTCD and WBDG UFC codes. Knowledge of construction materials and construction details and techniques.
