# Project Overview:

Bechtel is the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) partner on the Northrop Grumman team to deliver the Sentinel Program, which is modernizing the ground-based leg of the U.S. nuclear deterrent triad, including intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) systems and launch infrastructure. Bechtel's scope of service in Sentinel's current Engineering & Manufacturing Development phase focuses on the ground infrastructure component of the program.

A major contractor for the United States and allied governments, Bechtel has handled such efforts as chemical weapons demilitarization projects, missile-defense, infrastructure, base operations, procurement and project management, and restoration and recovery spanning half a century. Job Summary:

Essential duties include the locating and designing supports for various piping systems and performing associated calculations. Work closely with layout personnel and pipe stress engineers to deliver a quality and cost-effective design. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and vendors as required. Prior experience should include working in a 3D model environment.

# Major Responsibilities:

+ Evaluates, selects, and applies standard plant design and piping engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications.

+ Performs pipe support structural analysis using GTStrudl and review of systems in accordance with DoD UFC standards, ASME B31.3, AISC, or other applicable code where required.

+ Development & application of typical pipe supports and/or creation of pipe support calculations/drawings for engineered pipe supports as required.

+ Perform coordination review of specifications and other documents prepared by disciplines.

Education and Experience Requirements:

** Level I:
** Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience​.

+
** Level II:
** Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.

# Required Knowledge and

Skills:

+ Must be a US citizen.

+ Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment, education, and travel.

+ Possess active security clearance or ability to obtain security clearance.

+ Good knowledge of AISC and ASME B31.3 and other relevant industry codes and standards.

+ Prior experience using GTStrudl structural analysis program.

+ Previous Bechtel project experience preferred.

+ Previous DoD project experience for Risk Category 5 facilities.

+ PE Registration.
