Overview
Adjunct, Electronics Technology at Salt Lake Community College (SLCC). This is a pooled, contract-to-contract teaching position with annual, semester-by-semester consideration and no guaranteed continued employment. On-site campus presence is expected to foster in-person relationships unless approved for online-only courses.
Responsibilities- Instruct students through scheduled lectures and self-paced labs, ensuring course learning outcomes are met.
- Provide outcomes assessment, evaluation of student learning through labs and assignments, and maintain student performance records.
- Create an effective, supportive learning environment and maintain professional boundaries with SLCC students.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of electronics technology topics and use standard electronics equipment (power supplies, signal generators, oscilloscopes, soldering equipment).
- Work within the prescribed curriculum and departmental procedures; demonstrate patience, creativity, and a cooperative attitude; work with a diverse student body and staff. Maintain an excellent attendance record and professional demeanor.
- Remain available for the assigned course schedule (7:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. at the Westpointe Campus); other schedules may be evaluated.
- Minimum Qualifications
:
Salt Lake Technical College or equivalent certificate in Electronics Technology and 4 years of relevant industry experience, OR 6 years of relevant industry experience. - Preferred Qualifications
:
Salt Lake Technical College or equivalent certificate in Electronics Technology and 6 years of relevant industry experience. IPC certifications are a plus.
- Official transcripts are required for those offered employment within 30 days of hire.
- Adjunct positions are offered on a semester-by-semester basis with no guarantee of continued employment.
- All employees are expected to maintain a permanent residence within the State of Utah as a condition of employment. New employees must provide a valid Utah residential address within 30 days of their start date.
- New employees may be subject to a criminal background check.
