The Composites Instructor will play a vital role in fostering a culture of Community, Learning, and Integrity while instructing students at Ogden-Weber Technical College’s (OWTC) Business Depot Ogden Campus (BDO). In this position, the instructor will deliver high-quality technical instruction in advanced composite manufacturing, repair, and related material science. Working under the direction of the Composites Program Coordinator, the incumbent will collaborate closely with fellow faculty members to support student success outcomes including completion, placement, and licensure.
In alignment with OTECH’s commitment to continuous learning and responsible stewardship, the instructor will maintain accurate verification of student competency completion and other required records.
Additional responsibilities include partnering with the Program Coordinator to ensure curriculum relevance, uphold program integrity, and strengthen learning experiences that prepare students for success in the composites industry.
Responsibilities- Provide students with technical instruction in a safe, clean, and productive learning environment; maintain student records to include verification of attendance and completion of competencies.
- Meet programmatic and accrediting body goals for student completion, placement, andlicensure.
- Advise students in the areas of program and college expectations, appropriate work behavior, and dress standards. Assist counselors, administration, and other staff as necessary to resolve issues affecting student success.
- Assist theprogramcoordinator with maintaining program assets.
- Work closely with program coordinator to improve curriculum and instructional methodologies to increase student success.
- Completeassignmentswithinestablishedtimelines.
- Attend programmatic team meetings.
- Work cooperatively with the college community and with all college stakeholders.
Represent the college community in a professional manner. - Other responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of two years of experience in the composites industry to include hands-on experience manufacturing composites structures required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications as well as other computersoftwareapplications.
- Preference will be given to those individuals that have teaching and curriculum development experience.
- Preference will be given to those individuals who have completed a post-secondary composites program and/or an associate’s or bachelor's degree in material science orrelated field.
- Work requires physical exertion.
Will require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces;bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for extended periods of time. - Risks which require the use of special safety precaution sand/or equipment, e.g., working around operating machines, etc.
WORKING HOURS: Monday–Thursday: 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM
