Fully in person on the Ogden Campus.

Pay Grade Salary Hourly Pay Rate $14.00 FLSA

Job Summary /Basic Function

This position is for current tutors/coaches/SI Leaders/Learning Assistants working in Learning Support only.

ESOL Tutors Meet Weekly For 30 Minute Tutoring Sessions With Students Enrolled In WLC 2810 And 1810. The Purpose Of This Tutoring Is

• Help students build English conversation skills on topics related to the WLC course content.
• Support students’ sense of belonging in their first or second semester as a WSU student. Direct them to campus resources and help them get involved with WSU events as applicable.
• This is a pooled position. Applicants are selected from the pool as positions become available. After a period of time the pool will expire and applicants will be notified.

Required Qualifications

• Must be a WSU student and currently tutoring in the Learning Support Department
• Must have completed the first semester of CRLA training (Advanced Tutor) or first semester of SI/LA training
• Good listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead and direct conversations with tutees

Preferred Qualifications

• Completed second semester of CRLA training (Master Tutor) or second semester of of SI/LA training
• Knowledge of second language acquisition
• Knowledge of campus resources outside of tutoring
