Primary Function

Attach wax patterns to a sprue stick, exercising care to complete a difficult, and / or heavy, quality assembly.

Hot irons, clippers, hot wires, rework tools, angles, Bunsen burner, holding racks, spacers, putty knives, electronic media, H2O welder, etc.

Various types of pattern wax, stictite, ceramic pouring cups, sprue handles, etc.

With the guidance and supervision of the department supervisor and/or the Senior Assembler, the following are the usual major job duties but this job description does not preclude the performance of other duties by the incumbent.

• Shall adhere to all safety requirements as posted on the job safety card.
• Shall receive daily work assignments from the department supervisor or the department group leader.
• Shall consistently follow all applicable work instructions.
• Shall assemble sprues in accordance with electronically provided work instructions, where the size and fragility of the wax patterns, and the difficult gating require extreme care to complete a quality assembly.
• Shall hang all completed assemblies on conveyor after careful inspection.
• Shall attend and successfully complete hazardous material / waste handling classes.
• Shall maintain all labor vouchers, records, and files, in addition to a variety of logs where accuracy is paramount, and enter all required information into the Company software in a timely manner.
• Shall attend and successfully complete lockout / tag out training classes.
• Shall maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition.
• Shall attend and successfully complete training in the proper techniques of lifting.
• Shall perform other duties as assigned.

Work is to be performed in an air‑conditioned environment, as free as possible of contaminants.

Must have sufficient strength and manual dexterity to perform the physical demands of the job.

Must have average working knowledge of personal computers and related software.
