Position Summary
This entry-level Retail Teller position is designed to identify tellers with less than 1 year of experience. Tellers provide deposit, withdrawal, payment, and account‑maintenance services, operate office equipment, explore customer needs, cross‑sell bank services, and refer clients to other business units. The role ensures superior customer service in accordance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Conduct daily banking transactions for customers (cash checks, withdrawals, and selling negotiable instruments).
- Accurately maintain a cash drawer per Central Bank policies.
- Document and report cash drawer outages.
- Maintain knowledge of regulatory issues relevant to teller and customer service functions.
- Complete BSA documentation and training requirements.
- Adhere to established security procedures.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area and secure confidential records.
- Consistently follow company customer‑service standards.
- Actively participate in the bank sales program by making appropriate referrals.
- Acquire and maintain knowledge of all bank products and services.
- Attend all required training.
- Assist others in the department as needed.
- May be assigned vault and/or ATM balancing responsibilities.
- May be assigned new account responsibilities.
- High school education or equivalent; high‑school senior student in a Cooperative Education Program.
- Cash handling and customer‑service experience preferred.
- Basic math skills required.
- Attention to detail required.
- Regular and punctual attendance required.
- Read, write, and speak English; effective oral and written communication skills.
- Strong customer‑relation and communication skills.
- Good judgment and ability to handle confidential information.
- Ability to analyze information and make decisions.
- Willingness to assume additional responsibilities as needed.
- Ability to operate teller and office equipment (computers, calculators, telephones, voice mail, electronic typewriters, copy machines, fax machines, automatic currency counter, coin machine, check encoder, and security devices).
- Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
