Responsibilities- Provide a high standard of Customer Service while delivering, which includes unloading of products and movement to customer use point as well as reloading the returned empty cylinders to the vehicle.
- Drive as needed, including delivery, cylinder handling, shipping orders/paperwork, customer contact, and vehicle AM & PM inspections.
- Accurately count and record quantities and styles of product delivered and picked up.
- Complete hazardous material shipping order paperwork in accordance with DOT/TC regulations.
- Placard vehicle according to required hazardous material regulations and Linde standards.
- Conduct and report pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections.
- Identify need for vehicle repairs and/or maintenance and ensure it is accomplished on time.
- Process medical and industrial gas cylinders using established plant guidelines and procedures.
- Perform visual, physical and odor tests on cylinders before filling and determine whether retesting and/or repairs are required.
- Check cylinder quantities, styles and product, and fill any necessary product.
- Load and unload product from weekly shuttle truck.
- Operate and maintain cylinder scales and associated equipment.
- Prepare warehouse transfer orders and accompanying paperwork for shipment and key the quantities, styles and products filled into the computer to justify the stock inventory.
- Complete and maintain quality control documentation as per company and governmental procedures.
- Operate a forklift truck and other plant vehicles.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Degree/G.E.D. is required.
- 2 years driving experience or completion of a truck driver training school course with equipment similar to Linde’s.
- No preventable accidents, license suspensions, or other moving violations in the past 2 years.
- No alcohol-related convictions within the last 10 years.
- A current medical examiner’s certificate or the ability to pass a DOT physical.
- Valid Class A or B CDL is required.
- Current Hazmat endorsement on CDL or ability to obtain Hazmat within 60 days of hire.
- 2+ years experience in a plant or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Read and write in English.
- 21 years or older.
