Job Summary
The Cable Repair Technician (Day Shift) is responsible for performing moderately complex cable builds, repairs, testing, and documentation related to Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) cable systems. This role supports operational reliability by ensuring cable assemblies meet required quality and safety standards while working under general supervision in a safety-sensitive environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform cable builds and repairs for Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) cable
Conduct high-voltage testing of ESP cable
Perform cable splicing, repairs, and spooling operations
Complete required testing and quality documentation accurately
Follow established work schedules and operational procedures
Maintain accuracy, attention to detail, and safety compliance during all tasks
Interact professionally with coworkers and customers as required
Minimum of 1 year of experience installing or repairing Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) cable
Basic troubleshooting skills for electrical equipment
Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work under general supervision
Intermediate verbal and written communication skills
Action-oriented mindset with strong planning, prioritization, and time management skills
Customer-focused approach with the ability to respond effectively to questions
Role is safety-sensitive and may be subject to drug testing
Ability to exert up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently
Ability to climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and work on uneven surfaces
Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, lifting, pulling, and pushing
Sustained use of hands, wrists, and fingers for handling tools and equipment
Ability to visually inspect small parts, defects, and measurements
Ability to operate motor vehicles as required
Exposure to indoor and outdoor environments, including extreme heat
Potential exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, chemicals, fumes, dust, and oils
Use of required personal protective equipment
