Diesel Technician - Level II – Cummins Inc. – Odessa, TX

$10,000 Sign on Bonus! Active level 2 position with 100% on‑site work. Join our Distribution Business team for engine repairs and rebuilds.

Responsibilities
  • Complete troubleshooting, repairs, and rebuilds on engine products and other customer equipment in a service shop.
  • Perform preventive maintenance based on engine assessment, utilizing computers/software for diagnostic work.
  • Apply documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
  • Complete required documentation such as work completed documents, timesheets, warranty claims, and quality documents via handwritten forms or our business system.
  • Participate in ongoing training and obtain additional certifications on new and existing Cummins products.
  • Adhere to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation, reporting any issues or incidents to supervisor.
Key Responsibilities

Apply documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs; disassemble, inspect, clean and reassemble engines or components; perform preventive maintenance based on engine assessment; assist experienced technicians with diagnostics and repair plan development; complete required documentation; maintain work area and tools; adhere to all relevant health, safety, and environmental policies; report issues to supervisor.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)

Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution

Locally Valid Driving Permit (Preferred)

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.

Qualifications

DOT compliance: a CDL may be required to obtain upon hire, requires a 21‑year‑old licensed holder with a 5‑year motor vehicle report free from major violations, a current valid license, and a DOT physical. 3 years driving experience, subject to Hours of Service and electronic log use.
