PrimaryJob Responsibilities
- Practice safety rules.
- Follow verbal and written instructions.
- Report to and assist immediate supervisor.
- Perform quality work as determined by project specifications.
- Accountable for all tools and materials at the end of your shift.
- Must work well as part of a team.
- Safety is a core value; employees must comply with all safety policies and regulations.
- Mobilization and demobilization: load, unload, secure, set up and tear down equipment.
- Equipment maintenance: ensure all equipment, vehicles, and tools are properly accounted for, used for correct purpose, and maintained.
- Other duties: serve as backup to other positions as directed; assist other duties as assigned.
- Lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds daily, seldom over 50 pounds.
- Grasp and manipulate various hand tools daily.
- Stand for more than two hours at a time, twisting, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, and stooping regularly.
- Identify and distinguish colors; use manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
- Communicate orally; have the ability to hear and understand.
- Operate motorized equipment safely where carelessness would potentially result in injury.
- Work in an environment that is uncomfortable due to drafts, noise, temperature variation or similar discomforts.
- Proofread and check documents for accuracy; use a keyboard to enter and transform words or data.
- Comply with company’s drug and alcohol abuse policy.
- Pass physical examination and pre‑employment requirements as needed.
- Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
- Work at elevated heights; work in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.).
- Get assistance to lift items over 50 lbs. Check with supervisor or safety director.
- Work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.).
- Be clean shaven and wear a respirator and other personal protective equipment when required.
- Industrial construction sites and/or fabrication shops.
- Uneven ground
- Obstructed pathways
- Work at low/high elevations
- Confined work spaces
- Predominantly outdoor work
- Exposure to:
- Extreme heat or cold
- Humidity, rain, and other weather conditions
- Loud noise from tools and machinery
- Potential chemical exposure
- Minimum 1–2 years related experience excavating near underground utilities.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Class A CDL with air brakes and tanker endorsement preferred.
