Retail Sales Associate

Overview

We are currently looking for the right Full-Time Retail Sales Associate to join our team at First Cash pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff of the store to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business.

The role involves greeting, engaging, and assisting customers with sales, loans, and other transactions, while working with a wide variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, and firearms (in FFL locations).

The Full-Time Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate position offers an hourly wage plus commission based on productivity. The actual pay will be based on factors such as work location, qualifications, and experience.

The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate thrives on engaging with customers and assists with customer inquiries and problem resolution. The associates will work with a wide variety of merchandise and support both lending and retail activities.

Pay rates include a base hourly rate with commission opportunities. The commission can contribute to earnings based on performance and program details discussed during the interview.

• Greets and interacts with customers to develop rapport and offer appropriate financial solutions.
• Performs open/close procedures in accordance with store policy.
• Keeps the sales floor clean, stocked, and maintains merchandise displays.
• Performs sales and loan transactions following established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Handles cash and negotiable items per policy.
• Answers incoming calls per company standards.
• Communicates the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
• Maintains effective communication with coworkers and managers and supports a positive customer experience.
• Completes assigned training and performs other related duties as needed.

• Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stand, bend, walk, and perform duties for extended periods; some tasks may require physical effort.
• Ability to work with firearms and to become firearms certified (where applicable).
• Ability to work at exterior locations or retrieve products from storage as needed.
• Minimum Age: 18 years old
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
• Strong desire to serve customers and work in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and perform basic math calculations.
• Cash handling experience is preferred.
• Ability to work at multiple locations as needed and to maintain a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Computer literacy and ability to operate POS systems and common office machines.

The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2–8% commission based on personal gross profit. More details are provided during the interview process.
