Shift: Mid-Shift (14:30 – 21:00) | 5x8-Hour Shifts
Job Summary:The only Level II Trauma Center in the Permian Basin, is seeking a high-functioning OR RN for a mid-shift contract. This is a fast-paced Teaching Hospital environment that manages complex cases across a 17-county region. The OR department features 11 suites, including specialized rooms for heart, ortho, and robotic surgery. You will be expected to "hit the ground running" with a diverse caseload including trauma, robotics, and pediatrics.
KeyResponsibilities
- Multispecialty Circulation/Scrubbing: Support a high-volume service line including Robotics (Da Vinci Xi), Ortho/Spine, Neuro, and Vascular.
- Trauma Response: Act as a critical team member for Level II trauma cases (MVA, GSW, burns) arriving during the busy mid-shift transition.
- Pediatric Surgical Care: Provide specialized intraoperative care for pediatric and neonatal patients in general surgery and ENT.
- Robotic Assistance: Independently manage the Da Vinci Xi surgical system for GYN, bariatric, and general procedures.
- Complex Cardiac & Vascular: Assist in high-acuity cases such as CABG, TAVR, and aortic aneurysm repairs.
- Experience: 2–3 years of OR experience strongly preferred.
- Clinical Skills: Proficiency in Robotic XI, Ortho, Spine/Neuro, and Trauma is essential.
- Licensure: Active Texas State RN License or Multi-State Compact License.
- Certifications:
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- PALS (AHA)
- Technical Skills: Cerner experience is highly preferred.
- Background: Experience in both Teaching and Community Hospital settings is required.
- Shift Schedule: 5x8-hour shifts (14:30 – 21:00).
- Call Requirement: 1 weekday shift and 1 weekend per month.
- Orientation: 3–4 days of orientation; 24 orientation hours total.
- Deadlines: Hard document deadline is Tuesday 4:30 PM CST prior to your start date. No exceptions.
- Location: Odessa, TX 79761.
