Travel Nursing Contract - Start Date:
October 27, 2025 - Assignment Length: 13-week contract
- Shift: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Ratio: 1:3
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Texas or compact state
- Minimum 2 years of recent Level III NICU RN experience
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Current BLS, NRP, PALS, and STABLE certifications
- Experience with Cerner electronic charting preferred
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Must submit Requested Time Off (RTO) with application
- Local candidates within 50 miles of Odessa, TX not eligible
- Provide expert nursing care to neonates in a high-acuity Level III NICU environment
- Administer blood products, anti-seizure medications, antibiotics, antivirals, and insulin
- Perform APGAR scoring, manage arterial lines, and assist with lumbar punctures
- Attend high-risk deliveries and offer breastfeeding support to families
- Manage bubble CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, high-frequency ventilation, and oxygen delivery systems
- Care for neonates with NEC, neonatal abstinence syndrome, respiratory distress syndrome, and sepsis
- Perform neonatal dosage calculations, IV vasopressor administration, and chest tube management
- Educate and support patients and families with developmental care and teaching
- Document patient care using Cerner EMR
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapists, interpreters, and social services
