About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Manual Machinist to join our team in Odessa, TX. In this hands-on role, you will operate manual machine tools to produce precision metal components that meet exact specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and experienced in working with lathes, mills, and grinders in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Operate manual machine tools including lathes, milling machines, and grinders to fabricate metal parts.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications.
- Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials for each job.
- Monitor machine operations and listen for irregular sounds to diagnose malfunctions.
- Adjust cutting speeds and feeds to optimize performance and reduce vibration.
- Measure and inspect finished parts using precision instruments such as micrometers and dial indicators.
- Ensure all parts conform to engineering drawings and quality standards.
- Maintain and calibrate equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Use both manual and computer-controlled machinery as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate protective equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and tools.
- Support other team members and perform additional duties as assigned.
- 1–3 years of experience as a Manual Machinist in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and using precision measuring tools.
- Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and machine interface.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
