Overview
The Project OEM Manager is the primary interface between Gemma Power Systems and the Major Equipment / Power Train Supplier for their assigned project. The OEM Manager is thoroughly versed in all OEM technical & commercial contracts, specifications & drawings, and ensures the OEMs uphold their technical, schedule, and commercial obligations through all project phases – from design and drawings through construction, first fire, and commissioning.

- Leads the OEM relationship for the assigned project, including coordination of EPC construction activities with input from OEM technical field advisors (TFAs).
- Leads by example and maintains a professional demeanor at all times.
- Reports to the Site Project Manager or General Superintendent for day-to-day obligations, project needs, personal scheduling, and overall OEM scope items.
- Accountable to the Senior OEM Manager on a bi-weekly (or weekly as needed) basis for project updates focused on OEM standards, planning, execution, critical items, documentation, and closeout.
- Assists the Project Manager, Project Engineering Manager, Procurement Manager, Construction Managers, and Commissioning Managers with guidance on OEM schedules, contractual obligations, critical path items, TFA mobilization & scheduling, and other OEM-related items affecting project success.
- Provides the Project Manager with necessary details & updates to support monthly client progress reports.
- Implements & manages the Extra Work Authorization (EWA) system to enable OEMs to request Gemma’s services for additional field work not covered by the main contract.
- Acts as the primary point of contact for Gemma site personnel regarding OEM questions, issues, drawing interpretations, scope clarifications, contract obligations, or equipment erection responsibilities.
- Attends and participates in kick-off and monthly meetings, providing input to OEM scope as needed to support the larger group discussion.
- Reviews initial OEM drawing submittals (design phase) and advises the document control team on additional review needs for drawing acceptance.
- Leads weekly meetings with the OEM TFA team to understand objectives, discuss outstanding items related to OEM / EPC coordination, and ensure alignment with the construction plan.
- Ensures accurate records for the complete powertrain erection phase, including Field Quality Plan signatures, dimensional records & acceptance, First Fire readiness trackers, turnover packages, punch lists, supplier TFA reports, and related documentation.
- Manages OEM-related discrepancies between design documents and OEM equipment scope via the RFI system, coordinating all relevant parties to resolve and close items.
- Participates in daily site walks with discipline superintendents or field engineers to review erection progress and advise on OEM specifications, requirements, or critical criteria as needed.
- Tracks or manages TFA manhour burn and provides regular updates for monthly client reports; level of tracking depends on contract structure.
- Supports Gemma’s OJT and intern programs to foster talent development.
- Supports logistics planning & coordination, including heavy-haul discussions, between OEMs logistics team and Gemma materials management; flags delivery schemes out of sequence or non-compliant with contract terms.
- Witnesses and documents offloading & installation of all OEM heavy-haul deliveries, including rail siding or barge transfers where logistically feasible.
- Leads teams to ensure Ready for First Fire status of each powertrain, including daily management and closeout of required checklists and documentation.
- Supports the Project Warranty Manager during the transition to the warranty period and assists in resolving warranty claims as requested.

- 4-year degree in Business or Engineering or 10 years of related technical experience.
