Role Mission
The IDEA Interventionist Teacher intervenes with small groups of students who have identified gaps of 2 or more years in Reading and/or Math with the goal of closing that gap by 2 years in just one school year. The interventionist helps prepare students to participate in IDEA’s AP for All initiative. Intervention teachers use universal screening, Direct Instruction intervention, frequent progress monitoring, and increasingly intensive research-based instruction for students who continue to have difficulty.

- The starting teacher salary for 0 years of experience is $63,500.
- This role is eligible for various stipends based on certifications, credentials, and campus leadership ranging from $500-$4,000 each. We also offer additional performance-based compensation.

Other Benefits
- Additional hourly compensation is provided for after school tutoring or Saturday school as assigned.

What You BringQualifications
- High level of content-area proficiency in Math and/or ELA as evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work experience.
- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required). - Experience:
Experience in a K-12 classroom setting (strongly preferred). - Licenses or
Certifications:
State certification preferred but not required.
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of the core academic subject assigned and ability to pass an IDEA content assessment.
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
- Ability to instruct students and manage student behavior.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adjust and adapt to a multitude of situations in the school environment.
Responsibilities
- Teach Critical Student Intervention (CSI) instruction in small groups for students in 3rd-8th grade who are academically at risk in reading and/or math, including students in general education, 504, Response to Intervention, Special Education, and English Language Learners.
- Teach district-approved research-based interventions to small groups of students in Kinder-2nd grade (dependent on campus assignment) at risk in reading and/or math, including students in general education, 504, Response to Intervention, Special Education, and English Language Learners.
- Teach district-approved research-based interventions to small groups of students in 9th-12th grade (dependent on campus assignment) at risk to graduate, including students in general education, 504, Response to Intervention, Special Education, and English Language Learners.
The remaining instructional minutes may include the following:
- Teach Dyslexia Instructional Service Minutes in small groups for Special Education Dyslexia students as a Provider of Dyslexia Instruction.
- Work closely with general education teachers to coordinate the support they are providing to students requiring intervention.
- Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations.
