Mental / Psychiatric Health Technician (Behavioral Health Technician)
Facility: Rogers Behavioral Health
Location: 34700 Valley Rd, Oconomowoc, WI 53066
Setting: Inpatient Psychiatric Facility
Job Summary
Provide care for individuals with psychiatric conditions and substance use disorders under the direction of physicians, nurses, or other health practitioners. Monitor patient safety, physical and emotional well-being, and report directly to medical staff.
Essential Duties
- Monitor patients for safety and well-being
- Assist with daily activities (rounding, vitals, meals)
- Support patients who may be at risk of harming themselves or others
- Follow care plans and instructions from medical staff
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's in Behavioral Studies/Psychology preferred)
- Experience: Minimum 1 year behavioral health experience preferred (psych hospital experience strongly preferred)
- Certifications: CPR, TB screening, Health certificate (as required)
- Other: Must be at least 18 years old and meet all federal, state, and local requirements
- CNA license or Bachelor's in Psychology
- Prior inpatient psychiatric experience
- Shifts: PM (3p-11:30p)
- Hours: 40 hours/week, every other weekend
- Pay:
- Weeks 1-3: $23/hr
- Weeks 4-6: $24/hr
- Weeks 7+: $25/hr
- Overtime: 1.5x after 40 hours
- Duration: 17 weeks (Temp-to-Hire)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Must understand one-to-one patient care and crisis situations
- Memory care experience alone is not sufficient
- Opportunity for permanent hire after contract
