Job Description
Operating all kitchen and delivery equipment, maintaining inventory, and ensuring timely, accurate product delivery to customers.
Job Duties- Operate all equipment.
- Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, walk‑in cooler.
- Prepare product.
- Receive and process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
- Deliver product by car and to the customer’s door; distribute flyers and door hangers.
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record that meets company standards.
- Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
- Must pass a background check and have open availability.
Orientation and training provided on the job.
Communication SkillsAbility to comprehend and give correct written instructions; communicate verbally with customers and co‑workers over the phone and in person; train and lead team members.
Essential Functions/Skills- Perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division accurately and quickly (calculator may be used).
- Make correct monetary change.
- Show verbal, written, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Exhibit motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers for rapid, accurate, precise movements.
- Enter orders via a computer keyboard or touchscreen.
- Maintain cost controls.
Read a map, locate addresses within the designated delivery area, and navigate adverse terrain—including multi‑story buildings and private homes—while carrying product.
Work Conditions- Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions during outside tasks.
- In‑store temperatures range from 36 degrees in cooler to 90+ degrees in some areas.
- Sudden temperature changes in work area and outdoors.
- Fumes from food odors and exposure to cornmeal dust.
- Cramped quarters including walk‑in cooler.
- Hot surfaces/tools up to 500 degrees or higher; sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
Talking and hearing on the telephone; near and mid‑range vision for most in‑store tasks; depth perception; ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
TemperamentsDirect activities, perform repetitive tasks, work with others, handle stress, meet strict quality control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, make judgments and decisions.
StandingMost tasks performed from a standing position. Walking surfaces include ceramic tile “bricks” with linoleum in some food process areas. Work surfaces height 36‑48 inches.
WalkingShort distances for short durations.
DeliveryTravel between store and delivery vehicle, and from vehicle to customer location.
SittingPaperwork normally completed in an office at a desk or table.
LiftingBulk product deliveries unloaded with a hand truck; cases weighing up to 50 pounds, dimensions up to 3' x 1.5'; items stacked up to 72 inches high.
CarryingLarge cans (≈3 lbs 7 oz), pizza sauce (≈30 lbs), trays of pizza dough (≈12 lbs each); carried from workstation to storage or front of store.
DrivingDeliver pizzas within designated delivery area; multiple deliveries per shift.
PushingMove trays on dollies (24‑30 inches) requiring up to 7.5 pounds of force.
ClimbingNavigate stairs or ladders infrequently; during delivery may require five or more flights of stairs.
Stoop/BendForward bending at the waist for pizza assembly (~40‑45 seconds repeatedly). No knee flex while standing; forward bending at front counter when stocking.
Crouch/ SquatOccasionally to stock shelves and clean low areas.
ReachingContinuously up, down, and forward; above 72 inches to control ovens or change signs; down for scooping cornmeal or washing dishes; forward for toppings, cleaning, or answering phones.
Hand TasksEye‑hand coordination essential; hands used continuously throughout the day for frequent activities.
