HVAC Technicians on the Camp Pendleton team come from all surrounding areas. Specializing in commercial HVAC, the Technician performs maintenance, repair, replacement, and modernization of HVAC systems to achieve regulated climatic conditions. The position requires extensive knowledge of HVAC principles and the ability to diagnose, test, and correct malfunctions efficiently. The ideal EMI HVAC Technician is EPA Universal Certified and skilled in repairing a variety of systems.
Salary$29.87 - $47.80/hr. (DOE) plus $4.93 fringe benefits used towards insurance and 401k!

Key Responsibilities- Work on various HVAC units: split package, residential, light commercial, mini-splits, VAVs, and AHUs
- Use a multi-meter to check voltage
- Use a torch for brazing
- Prepare work orders and estimate material costs
- Assist in training lower-level workers in mechanical repair techniques
- Work independently, be a self-starter
- Read schematic diagrams
- Understand the Refrigeration cycle and troubleshoot mechanical issues
- Practice workplace safety, including proper PPE use
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in commercial HVAC maintenance, repair, installation, and operation
- EPA Type II Refrigeration License
- HVAC I course or equivalent
- Dependable attendance, willingness for overtime including nights and weekends
- Valid driver’s license compliant with REAL or willingness to obtain one
- Pass pre-employment drug screening and background check
- U.S. citizenship for access to military installations
- Lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Use hands, reach, talk, walk
- Prolonged sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, stooping
- Climb ladders, enter confined spaces
- Work indoors and outdoors in various temperatures and weather conditions
- EPA Universal Refrigeration License
