Position Summary
Responsible for providing reasonable protection and security to the Medical Center, the employees, patients, medical staff and visitors and to their property from accident, damage, theft and trespassing.
Major Position Responsibilities- Maintains a safe, clean working environment, including unit based safety and infection control requirements.
- Perform duties in a manner that provides protection to the Medical Center, the employees, patients, visitors and medical staff and their property by identifying high‑risk persons, unsafe behavior, contraband objects as well as using immediate verbal or physical interventions to uphold a safe environment.
- Will uphold and maintain a secured environment by observing identification badges, unsecured doors, trip/fall hazards and adhering to safety procedures.
- Assist with the inventory, transferring, housing and retrieval of assets within the medical center.
- Assist with security officer orientation, as needed.
- Complies with the established schedule of the Security department as well as unscheduled mandatory overtime, when needed, in order to maintain safe staffing levels.
- Responsible to maintain departmental equipment.
- Consistently demonstrates an understanding of departmental documentation standards and completing report investigations in a timely manner.
- Follows established policy and procedures in all situations.
- Maintains all unit specific and educational requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Prefer a minimum of two to four years of police or security related experience or college related courses in the area of Security, Criminology or Management.
- High School diploma or GED, required.
- BSIS Guard Card, required within 90 days of hire.
- NVCI Training within 90 days of hire or transfer, required.
Each new hire candidate who is offered employment must pass a physical evaluation, urine drug screen and pre-employment background checks before starting work.
Salary/Hourly wage range for this position is posted. Actual pay will be determined based on verified experience as well as internal equity.
