The Group Sales Manager is an expert in building and maintaining long‑term relationships in their assigned geographical market. Responsibilities include driving revenue by proving thoughtful proposals to inquiries, proactively developing relationships for future business opportunities, developing and executing a SMART plan, hosting hotel tours, negotiating contractual terms, and facilitating communication before, during and post event with the planning teams.
The role requires in‑office and remote access, presence for site visits, pre‑planning meetings, and other sales related guest‑facing or internal meetings as indicated by the Director of Sales, Marketing & Events and Director of Group Sales. It demands a fully competent sales professional with experience in the sales process and function of a hotel, and a commitment to direct sales excellence.
Salary range: $70,304.00 – $79,400.00.

- Selling guest rooms, meeting space and other Hyatt services to customer groups, managing accounts, and conducting site inspections, soliciting and generating business.
- Preparing and presenting effective and detailed proposals, maintaining well‑organized documentation and reports, utilizing Hyatt systems and coordinating customer service requirements as appropriate.
- Participating in and may lead sales and event meetings and other staff meetings.
- Organizing and participating in client entertainment/FAMs, special promotions, tours, site inspections, and trade shows/conferences.
- Assisting in creating and implementing special promotions relating to direct sales segments.
- Maximizing sales occupancy and rates in conjunction with hotel operations to increase profits.
- Prospecting new business using a wide variety of sales methods, including but not limited to phone calls, outside sales calls, attending trade shows and conferences, and active participation within the industry to strengthen and expand the customer base and brand awareness.
- Generating and securing business through aggressive sales efforts that will include proactive solicitation of national and local corporate business from Hyatt’s National Account base.
- Establishing and building successful relationships that generate sales opportunities.
- Effectively communicating client requirements, ensuring all information is accurate between client and hotel.
- Ensuring business is turned over accurately and in a timely manner to ensure high‑level service delivery.
- Analyzing and conducting market research to fully understand competitive set, market conditions, and current trends to maximize revenue and the hotel’s market position.
- Negotiating, preparing and executing contracts that meet the hotel’s business plan objectives.
- Solving problems and developing solutions to meet the client’s important requirements/needs.
- Maintaining or exceeding sales goals as assigned by DOSM.
