Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
This position is part of Suja Life, LLC. Maintenance Team and plays an important role in improving overall reliability and performance of manufacturing and infrastructure equipment.
The Industrial Maintenance Technician's primary purpose is to maintain plant equipment at optimum efficiency. Employees will be required to use their troubleshooting skills and experience to resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic (etc.), problems that may occur.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Assembling, installing, and maintaining electrical and mechanical systems, machinery and equipment.
- Troubleshooting machinery and performing routine preventative maintenance and service.
- Reading, interpreting, and following instructions and operation manuals.
- Inspecting machines regularly for signs of malfunctions.
- Using a variety of power and hand tools to perform job functions.
- Cleaning, repairing and installing equipment and parts as needed.
- Keep a facility operating and repair the equipment when problems are discovered.
- Log work activity into a computerized maintenance management system.
- Adhere company and department procedures and standards.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Two years of documented experience in industrial equipment maintenance or vocational training plus 1 year of work experience in a manufacturing plant.
- Ability and knowledge to move/lift machinery using hoisting equipment, rollers and trucks.
- Ability and knowledge to properly use tools and equipment such as drill presses, bench grinders, portable power and hand tools.
- Electrical knowledge and skill in troubleshooting motors and control circuits.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Must have good problem-solving skills.
- Basic knowledge of mathematics, algebra, and physics.
- Preventive/Predictive knowledge and experience.
- Must have required basic hand tools.
- Welding a plus.
- Must have good communication skills and be able to read, write and communicate in English. Spanish is a plus.
- PLC experience is a plus
Work performed in a wet, refrigerated manufacturing facility with temperatures below 40°F, with occasional tasks in dry warehouses (up to 85°F) or freezer environments (as low as
-10°F).
Exposure to noisy environments exceeding 85 dBA.
Work areas may be tight; continuous PPE use (safety glasses, ear protection, steel-toed shoes) is required.
Must be able to perform repetitive tasks efficiently and safely.
May require forklift certification and operation, including maintenance and inspections.
Physical DemandsStand and walk for entire shift.
Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. continuously; push/pull up to 100 lbs. continuously.
Navigate manufacturing environments including bending, kneeling, reaching overhead, stooping, squatting, twisting, climbing ladders/stairs, and working at heights.
Regular use of hands for grasping and controlling objects and/or tools.
Occasional desk work requiring computer use.
Exposure to moving machinery.
Must pass a fit-for-duty physical exam.
