This temp-to-hire position offers stability, hands-on work, and the chance to grow your technical skillset in a clean, modern machine shop-not a warehouse. Enjoy weekly pay, full medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, 401(k), short-term disability, employee discounts, referral bonus potential, free staffing services, and opportunities for career advancement.
You'll work with delicate, high-value components, build valuable CNC and laser machining experience, and contribute to products that serve high-tech industries.
Daily Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machines (primarily 2-axis laser machining centers) under supervision
- Load and unload small, fragile ceramic and metal parts
- Prove tapes, operate machine controls, set offsets, and perform simple program edits as needed
- Deburr and inspect parts for accuracy and quality standards
- Interpret drawings, manuals, samples, and specifications to determine dimensions and machining requirements
- Measure and mark materials using precision tools for reference points and accuracy
- Detect out-of-tolerance machining, adjust equipment within capability, and report issues to supervisors
- Communicate with supervisors, engineers, production control, and quality teams to resolve machining questions
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and perform basic preventative maintenance
- Adapt to shifting priorities and occasional training on 1st shift if needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Experience operating CNC equipment such as milling machines or lathes (including setup, offsets, and basic edits preferred)
- Ability to transfer CNC milling skills to laser machining operations
- Strong manual dexterity and the ability to handle small, delicate parts
- Knowledge of precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators, depth gauges, scales)
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications with solid shop math understanding
- Familiarity with cutting tools, tooling accessories, fixtures, and holders
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven production environment
- Reliable and prompt attendance
- Willingness to train on 1st shift when required
This is not a warehouse job-no forklifts, heavy lifting, or machining fluids involved.
