Banquet Captain (Part‑Time) at Hyatt
Join our dynamic team and work in a beautiful setting with an unobstructed view of the ocean! We are looking for individuals who can provide authentic and memorable experiences that deliver the Southern California Dream to our guests.
Responsibilities- Make the function space visually appealing and present the menu offering for the event, including linen and table setting, food station design, and beverage service.
- Oversee general banquet preparation, room refreshes, and maintain a sanitary environment.
- Assist with scheduling required staff for banquet functions.
- Listen to, understand, and clarify concerns and issues raised by co‑workers and guest.
- Lead associates by coaching, giving direction, including training.
- Clean what you are able to; use housekeeping as a resource when needed.
- Assist with monthly inventory.
- Adhere to proper food and beverage handling procedures.
- Use equipment safely and understand procedures related to its use.
- All other duties as assigned by leadership.

Hourly rate: $17.50/hr.
Qualifications- True desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast‑paced environment.
- 3+ years of related F&B and/or hospitality‑related experience.
- 2+ years in Banquet Captain or Catering Supervisor role.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience, skills & abilities.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- Basic mathematical calculation skills.
- Excellent time‑management and planning skills.
- Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift a moderate amount of weight.
